WHO WE ARE…
The Yadi Art Spot is a gallery store featuring fine art, fine crafts and gifts. A multi-faceted learning gallery, made up of a group of artists that joined forces following Yadi’s wild inspiration to create a place for artists to collaborate and challenge each other.

ABOUT OUR SPACE
Our professional teaching artists are teachers with several years of experience. We have prepared engaging hands-on workshops you and/or your young ones will surely love. Our workshops are unique in concept and designed to challenge the appropriate age group. With collapsible walls and hidden sinks, our little shop is designed to open as a classroom space. Select from any number of workshops running 4-6 weeks for youth or 8 weeks for adults. Classes include ceramics, mixed media painting, sculpture, and photography.

SCULPTING THROUGH THE VISIONARY WITHIN
This workshop is for novice and artist with a focus on seeing and executing a vision from start to finish. This is accomplished through a sculptural process that engages critical thinking, investigating perceivable obstacles and probable solutions.
The workshop is ideal for business professionals seeking an edge for excelling in their career. There will be brain storming moments within group. Students will begin with visualizing a 3 dimensional figurative, abstract or architectural object; leading to follow through in completing actual vision. This workshop challenges the creative process by weighting the pro’s and con’s for arriving at your objective. Thursday (4 weeks), October 1 2009 – October 22, 2009, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Adult) Fee: $110.00 R; 130.oo NR, plus Material Fee: $25.00 per Student

HANDS ON WORKSHOP for TOTS 4 – 6 Years
A Workshop for 4-6 year olds, is literally a hands on workshop where kids have their hands sculpted and learn to paint and add objects to create a finger print of memories. This project will is ideal for holiday gifts to parents, grandparents, friends and family. Tuesday, Wednesday (4 weeks), Tuesdays September, 29 – October 20, 2009; Wednesdays, September 30 – October 21, 2009, 9:00 – 10:00 am (TUES & WEDS); 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (TUES ONLY); Class Fee: $95.00 R; $110 NR

ART OF SEWING WORKSHOP
It’s the newest craze…learning to make your own designs to suit your own style. Yadi learned to sew and design from the age of eleven. In the late eighties she begin painting on fabric and selling her wears to private clients and during traveling shows. She ended her career in sewing in the late nineties to give her attention to fine art.
With soaring prices and lack of quality designs that fit her unique personally, Yadi returned to designing and making her own clothing. Although her career remains as a fine artist, with no desire to take on clients, she has opened the YadiArt Spot class schedule to include sewing workshops alone side the fine art workshops.

THE ART OF SEWING 101
For Adults and Teens with little or no experience. We will be taking a simple pattern for learning the basics. We will also perform small embellishments to make the garment uniquely yours. One class, week #3, meets at Vogue Fabrics on Main Street, Evanston, Illinois for fabric selection and accessories. Monday (6 weeks), October, 5, 2009 – November 9, 2009, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm (14-Adult), Class Fee: $150.00 R: $170.00 NR; Material Fee: Machine & Materials responsibility of Student

PAINTING ON FABRIC FOR WEARABLE ART
Create your own wearable fabric by painting your own designs directly onto fabrics such as cotton, silk chiffon and others. Use the finish product to create a scarf, or sample for creating larger garments in the future; such as skirts, blouses and more. Possibilities are endless. Machine needed final week of workshop. Tuesday (4 weeks), October 6, 2009 – October 27, 2009, 6:30 – 8:00 pm (Adult), Class Fee: $100.00 per Student, plus Material Fee: $25.00

MIXED MEDIA PAINTING WORKSHOP – PAPER/CANVAS
This workshop is design to allow students to experience a variety of medias on paper and/or canvas; by adding texture and sculptural relief properties to the work. Students will engage in learning how to work with several properties independently and then incorporate them to create one final art piece. Tuesday (6 weeks), October 5, 2009 – November 9, 2009, 4:00 – 6:00 pm (Youth – Age 13-16 years); Class Fee: $180.00 R; $200 NR (incl Meal); Material Fee: Included

LEARNING TO SEE & DRAW – ON PAPER
This workshop is designed to teach students the various techniques in drawing by understanding how lines and shapes are the primary focus for generating a strong composition on paper. The class examines perspective, casting shadows, contrast, contouring, hatching, graduated values, highlighting, vanishing points, proportion, rough sketching and much more. The tools needed for this workshop includes an artist pad, various shades of graphite, color pencils, kneader eraser, sharpener and sandpaper block. Thursday (6 weeks), October 1, 2009 – November, 5, 2009, 4:00 – 6:00 pm (Youth – Age 13-16 years); Class Fee: $140.00 R; $160.00 NR (incl Meal); Material Fee: Students will be given a material list

Call to International Emerging Artists:

A call for 2D and 3D submissions for a group exhibition featuring the works of the Top 4

emerging artists selected via the votes cast by art enthusiasts from around the world during

"CURATE THIS!". Physical submission receive deadline is June 12, 2008. Email submissions

will be accepted according the guidelines listed through June 10, 2008. A fee of $25 allows for

the submission of 4 works.

'FOUR'

From June 18-21, 2008 art enthusiasts from around the world will view the works submitted by emerging artists from all corners of the globe and vote to choose the top 10 emerging artists of 2008 working in 2D and 3D mediums including, but not limited to, painting, sculpture, mixed-media, drawing, printmaking, fiber, textiles and photography. BECA gallery will be enlisting the input of art enthusiasts from around the world via 'CURATE THIS!', an event which allows anyone from anywhere in the world with an internet connection and email access to select 10 artists and their works to be featured at www.becagallery.com and in the upcoming publication titled, 'CURATE THIS!'. Of the top 10 artists selected, the top 4 artists who have received the highest number of votes will have their works exhibited at 'FOUR', the gallery's 3rd international contemporary art exhibition opening August 2, 2008 at BECA gallery located at 527 Saint Joseph Street, New Orleans, LA, USA in the heart of the New Orleans warehouse arts district. The opening of the exhibit, 'FOUR', coincides with White Linen Night, the largest annual visual arts event in New Orleans.

'FOUR' EXHIBITION DATES: August 2 – September 28, 2008.
